Mr. Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan is the driving force behind Transworld Group. A graduate in Commerce from the University of Mumbai, he has over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience including hands-on involvement with ship
owning, chartering and ship management. His extensive, variegated stints, handling all facets of running shipping and allied businesses in the Indian subcontinent is brought to bear on operations of the Group.
He was awarded 'The Marine Personality of the Year' in 2011 at the Maritime And Logistics Awards, and named 'Indian CEO of the Year' in 2012. Prestigious global business publication Forbes recognised Mr. Ramakrishnan as one of the 'Top Indian Leaders in the Middle East' in 2013 and 2014 and as one of the 'Top Indian Leaders in the Arab World for five consecutive years from 2014 to 2018.

Experienced in all aspects of business formation, operation and management, Ritesh S. Ramakrishnan, Joint Managing Director, joined the Group in the year 2010. He has since been instrumental in leading the strategy,
planning, implementation and business development activities of the Transworld Group. He directly oversees the international operations of the Group companies and currently spearheads Avana Logistek.
A graduate from Purdue University, USA with a B.Sc in Logistics and a double minor in communication and finance in 2009. To further hone his leadership skills, he successfully graduated from the Programme for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School in 2017 and has received a certificate for Galbraith's Shipping Course from Galbraith's Limited .
He is is a member at Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the premier global leadership organization of chief executives in the world, and also a member of TiE Dubai a global network of entrepreneurs, business leaders, domain experts and mentors. At such an early stage in his entrepreneurial journey he was named as one of the 'Top Indian Leaders: The Next Generation 2018' and 'Top Indian Leaders 2017: The Next Generation', respectively, by Forbes, Middle East. He was honoured with ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2017’ award at The India Seatrade Awards. At the India Maritime Awards (IMA) 2018 at Mumbai, he was adjudicated as the “Face of The Future". He was also recognised as a 'Global Next Generation Business Leader' by Lloyds List in 2015. He has been a Director on the Board since May 30, 2012.

He retired as Nautical Advisor to Government of India, Chief Examiner of Masters and Mates and Additional Director General of Shipping (Technical) in November 2012. He is an ex trustee of JNPT, Mumbai and Kandla port. He was also the Chairman of Navigational Safety in Ports Committee (NSPC) responsible for approval of Navigational Safety of Non-major Ports. Earlier, he was Secretary (Co-ordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat. As Secretary Shipping, he helped in getting the tonnage tax option implemented for shipowners. He also served as Director General of Shipping where he streamlined chartering guidelines for ships in March 2000 and simplified Articles of Agreement for sailors. Mr. Satish Pillania started his sea career in 1986 and sailed in various foreign flag ships. He served as Chief Engineer and joined Shreyas Shipping Limited as an Engineer Superintendent in March 1997 and continued with newly formed TWSM in May 1998. In June 2003 he was promoted to Head of the Technical Department, and was elevated to Vice President in March 2006. He now leads TWSM as Chief Executive Officer which speaks of his talent and hard work. Mr. Pillania is extremely resourceful and good at troubleshooting, ensuring that vessels operate with minimum delays. He is a direct recruit member of the 1980 batch of the Indian Revenue Service-Customs & Central Excise. He was a career civil servant who had served the Govt. of India for 36 1/4 years, until his retirement on 30-NOV-2016. He was empaneled and promoted, in-situ, to the highest civil service rank of Secretary to the Govt. of India (at par in grade with the position of Permanent Secretary in civil services elsewhere in the world), in his last official assignment as the Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India, at Mumbai. He is, reportedly, only the second officer of this service to not merely have been empaneled as a full Secretary to the Govt. of India, but also actually get posted in that rank in the Govt. of India. He had held multiple civil service assignments in his career, in the Govt. of India. He has officially represented India and very actively participated in & contributed to the various Sessions of the Council and Assembly of the International Maritime Organization [IMO], London, as a member of the official Indian delegations thereto between 2011-2015.
