Transworld Group is embarking on a journey of integration of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) framework into our business practices. Long-term sustainable growth requires a sustainable business and a sustainable environment with a focus on socially virtuous practices and robust governance practices. ESG alignment with business strategy is helping us in better management of responsibilities and business risks on one end and drive transformation and change on the other hand.

At Transworld Group, we have aligned our ESG commitment with our higher purpose - “To deliver Prosperity for Humanity.” For we truly believe that we have to create valuable opportunities for all our stakeholders and society.

We understand that the long-term sustainability of our business is intrinsically linked with inspiring our employees to operate in a responsible manner and planning mitigatory steps for global risks to the environment. Work culture matters to us.

We also have implemented measures to uphold good governance internally and externally by constantly assessing and quantifying how we engage with our employees, our stakeholders and the environment.

Transparency matters

While we support the universally accepted UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we also follow the United Nations Global Compact initiative and have applied for certification from CDP, a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for companies, investors, cities, etc.

To stay committed to transparency on our ESG progress to our investors, employees and institutions, the Transworld Group has adopted the Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Boards (SASB) metric system. These two bodies will give us global perspective as well as industry specificbenchmarks to stay on top of the game. For it is a continuous learning curve asESG is always work in progress.

Chairman’s Message

“At Transworld Group, our higher purpose of ‘Delivering Prosperity to Humanity’ is the guiding light that motivates us in our endeavor to be a channel of prosperity. Not just for our shareholders and staff, but an all-encompassing outreach covering our associates, humanity and the entire ecosystem.

Our Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) standards provide us with a holistic framework to measure and achieve sustainable business.

Over the last five years, there has been an increased global shift towards sustainability by all our stakeholders. Evolution and growth are the two key stimulants that keep us moving.

I believe that when patterns are broken, new worlds emerge.”

We are taking several actions towards reducing our operational impact on biodiversity, ocean health and climate change through focus on waste management.

While shipping is the least polluting of all modes of transport, the Transworld Group is committed to becoming carbon neutral in our operations by the year 2043.

Hence, we are assessing how we can align our baseline benchmarking with the MARPOL Annex VI framework to enhance the energy efficiency of our ships.

We believe in creating a safe and empowered workplace with equal opportunities for all to deliver sustainable growth. We strive to improve gender balance and employ a diverse workforce while focusing on employee well-being and development.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Traditionally, gender diversity in the shipping and logistics industry is a challenge. Hence, we commit to promote and support participation of women in the industry and enable them to take on leadership roles.

By 2030, we aim to be gender neutral and have 40% women in senior management positions.

Strong corporate governance is an intrinsic part of our business strategy. We also have embedded the principles of ethical business practices in the values of the Transworld Group across board.
